Webshare Review (2026): Pricing, Features & Support Tested

Webshare Review 2026: Pricing, Features & Support Tested

Webshare is a Silicon Valley-based proxy provider. Their platform offers datacenter proxy servers, static residential proxies, and rotating residential proxies, with a product philosophy centered on customization, developer-friendliness, and accessible entry pricing. What I found was a provider that stands out in a crowded market for three specific reasons: a genuinely free plan that requires no payment information, one of the most granular pricing models in the industry, and a dashboard that is clearly built with developers in mind.

Webshare Prices & Plans

Webshare offers three proxy product types, each with a distinct pricing model.

The level of granularity is unusual in this space and genuinely useful for teams that want to dial in their spend rather than commit to fixed GB buckets.

Proxy Server (Datacenter)

Proxy Server plans are priced per proxy, billed monthly, with volume discounts that scale with the number of proxies purchased.

Performance

Unlike most proxy reviews that rely solely on published specs, I was able to run real hands-on tests using the 10 free proxies included on Webshare’s free plan.

No payment required, no special access. Here is exactly what I did and what I found.

How I Tested

I used curl to send requests through three proxies from different geographic locations, chosen to represent the kind of spread a real user might rely on:

  • US proxy (Dallas, Texas)
  • UK proxy (London)
  • Japan proxy (Tokyo)

Each proxy was tested against two targets:

  • httpbin.org/ip — a permissive, low-resistance endpoint used to measure raw response time and confirm the proxy is routing correctly
  • google.com — a real-world, higher-resistance target to test whether the proxies get blocked or flagged under normal conditions

I ran each proxy 4 times against httpbin.org to get a reliable average, then once against Google to check for blocks or CAPTCHA responses.

Results: httpbin.org (4 runs per proxy)

Proxy LocationRun 1Run 2Run 3Run 4Average
US (Dallas)1.96s1.83s1.91s1.94s1.91s
UK (London)1.42s1.08s1.08s1.43s1.25s
Japan (Tokyo)3.20s2.54s2.53s2.94s2.80s

Results: google.com (1 run per proxy)

Proxy LocationResponse TimeHTTP CodeResult
US (Dallas)2.14s200Pass
UK (London)1.05s200Pass
Japan (Tokyo)2.57s200Pass

What the Numbers Mean

Success rate: 100% across all 15 requests. Every single request returned HTTP 200, including against Google. No blocks, no CAPTCHAs, no timeouts. For a free plan using datacenter proxies, getting a clean pass on Google across three different geographic locations is a strong result.

screenshot of 15 requests

The UK proxy was the fastest, averaging 1.25 seconds on httpbin and dropping to 1.05 seconds on Google. This is likely a reflection of geographic proximity between the proxy server and the test target servers, and suggests users closer to Europe will see the best latency.

screenshot of UK request

The US proxy was the most consistent, averaging 1.91 seconds with very little variance between runs. Only 0.13 seconds separated the slowest and fastest result. Consistency matters as much as raw speed in production scraping environments where predictable timing is critical.

The Japan proxy was the slowest, averaging 2.80 seconds, which is expected given the geographic distance. For users specifically targeting Japanese content or needing a Tokyo exit node, this is still a workable speed. For users in Europe or the US routing through Japan to reach Western targets, a closer proxy location would serve them better.

Response times against Google were slightly higher for US and Japan proxies compared to httpbin, which is normal. Google’s infrastructure adds routing complexity that a simple IP-reflection endpoint does not have. The UK proxy actually came in faster on Google (1.05s) than on httpbin (1.25s average), which falls within normal variance.

Performance Verdict

Webshare’s free datacenter proxies delivered a clean 100% success rate across both a permissive test endpoint and Google, tested from three continents.

Response times were fast for UK and US exit nodes and acceptable for Japan given the distance involved.

It is worth noting these tests used the free datacenter proxy tier, which is Webshare’s entry-level product. Their rotating residential proxies are built for higher-resistance targets and would be the right choice for platforms that actively detect and block datacenter IPs.

The fact that even the free tier passed Google cleanly suggests the underlying infrastructure quality is genuine.

Ease of Use

I evaluated three things: the registration flow, the dashboard experience, and how the product selection and purchasing process works.

1. The Homepage and Registration

The Webshare homepage leads with a clear value proposition: “The Most Reliable Proxy with Unparalleled Performance.”

The most important element on the page is the call to action: “Get 10 Free Proxies” with “No credit card required” displayed immediately below it. That combination sets Webshare apart before you have even clicked anything.

screenshot of Webshare homepage

Clicking Sign Up takes you to the registration page, which asks for:

  • Email address
  • Password

Google Sign-In is also available for one-click account creation. After entering credentials and agreeing to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy with a single checkbox, clicking Sign Up triggers an immediate on-screen message: “Creating Your Proxy List… This may take a few seconds. Thank you for your patience.”

screenshot of 'Creating Your Proxy List...' pop up window

That popup is a small but satisfying touch. It tells you exactly what is happening and signals that you are not just creating a profile, you are getting proxies right now.

No email verification step is required before accessing the dashboard. No phone number, no social channel, no product interest survey. You click, you are in.

Waarschuwing
Registration verdict: The fastest and most friction-free registration of any provider I tested. From first click to active proxies in the dashboard took under 90 seconds. Google Sign-In makes it even faster. There is nothing to criticize here.

2. The Dashboard

Landing in the dashboard for the first time, two things happen simultaneously.

The main area shows your active Free Proxy plan with its allocation clearly confirmed (10 proxies, 1GB bandwidth per month) alongside a congratulations message and a “View My Proxy List” button.

On the right side, a Tasks panel automatically opens with a 4-step onboarding checklist:

  1. Watch Tutorial (links to a setup video)
  2. Configure proxy
  3. View your proxy activities
  4. Customize your plan

screenshot of Webshare dashboard

The task panel is an excellent touch for new users. It acknowledges that proxy setup can be unfamiliar territory and gives a clear, numbered path to getting started without requiring you to hunt through documentation.

The left sidebar organizes everything logically under a Products section:

  • Dashboard: Main overview with usage stats
  • Free: Expandable to show Proxy List, Proxy Settings, and Stats
  • Proxy Server: Expandable product section
  • Static Residential: Expandable product section
  • Rotating Residential: Expandable product section
  • Plans & Pricing: Full pricing page
  • Subscription: Billing and plan management
  • Referral: Referral programme
  • Sub-users: Team access management
  • API: API key management and documentation links

screenshot of Webshare dashboard

The top-right corner of the dashboard also shows a notification bell and a settings icon, keeping the interface clean without hiding functionality.

The in-dashboard support widget sits in the bottom-right corner and contains four tabs: Home, Messages, Help, and Tasks. The Messages tab is where you communicate directly with the support team and receive replies, keeping all support conversations inside the platform rather than bouncing to email.

A “Verify your email to ensure your bandwidth is not limited” banner appears at the top of the dashboard, which is the only follow-up step required after registration. It is clearly signposted and does not block access to the product in the meantime.

After the free plan, the dashboard’s Proxy Usage panel expands to show a full time-series chart with date-range controls, total request counts, and bandwidth tracking against your monthly allowance. This becomes the screen you will check most often as an active user.

3. Selecting a Product and Going to Checkout

Navigating to Plans & Pricing inside the dashboard shows a clean three-card layout, one card per product type, displayed side by side. A “YOU ARE ON FREE PLAN” badge at the top of the page makes your current status immediately clear. The three cards are:

  • Proxy Server: From $2.99/month, 400K+ fast and reliable IPs with 99.97% uptime
  • Static Residential: From $6.00/month, residential IPs from Comcast, AT&T and more with up to unlimited bandwidth
  • Rotating Residential: From $3.50/month (50% OFF the standard $7.00 rate), 80M+ real residential IPs from 195 countries

screenshot of Plans & Pricing tab

Each card has an “+ Add Plan” button that takes you into the detailed plan selection and checkout flow for that product type.

One detail on this page stood out: a “Need Help Choosing a Plan?” panel sits at the bottom with a “Take our 30-second quiz to find the right plan for your needs” prompt and a Start Now button.

For a product aimed at users new to proxies, this is a smart addition that avoids the paralysis of staring at a pricing grid without context.

Tip
Tip: If you are unsure which product type suits your use case, the 30-second quiz on the Plans and Pricing page is the fastest way to get a recommendation without reading through all three option sets.

4. Proxy Management

After working through the purchase flow, I wanted to understand what day-to-day proxy management looks like on Webshare.

On the access security side, the dashboard is stripped back. There is no 2FA, and there are no team account roles. The account settings page lets you change your email address, change your password, and delete your profile. That is it.

For individual users, this is fine, but for teams sharing a Webshare account, the absence of role-based access or session tracking is a gap.

Sub-users are handled separately, and this is where the picture improves. The Sub-users page lets you create individual proxy access accounts with their own labels, traffic allowances, and thread limits.

screenshot of Sub-users button

You can build custom proxy lists for each sub-user, restricting access to specific countries if needed. Sub-users each get their own setup widget.

The limitation is discoverability: the sub-user widgets are not prominently surfaced, and the related settings for IP whitelisting and session timeouts live on their own separate pages rather than being consolidated in one place.

For users managing a small team, the functionality is there, but it takes more navigation than it should to find all of it.

The Proxy List page is where you configure your proxies. It shows every IP in your plan alongside their location and the timestamp of the last availability check.

From this page, you can:

  • Filter the list by country
  • Select your authentication method
  • Choose the proxy presentation format: direct connection, gateway servers, or a rotating gateway
  • Download the full or partial list as a .txt file
  • View already-replaced IPs in a separate tab and trigger new replacements

screenshot of Proxy List

Code samples in multiple programming languages appear below the list, which removes the need to go elsewhere for integration examples. The setup works cleanly for datacenter and ISP proxies.

With rotating residential proxies, the flow is slightly more involved, though it remains manageable.

The API is available to every customer and is one of the more complete implementations reviewed. It follows REST conventions, accepts JSON request bodies, returns JSON responses, and uses standard HTTP status codes.

screenshot of 'Authentication' article

Authentication is token-based, passed in an Authorization header. Rate limits are clearly documented: 240 requests per minute on the general API, 60 per minute on proxy list endpoints, and 30 per minute for proxy list download links.

The API covers registration and login, profile and sub-user management, traffic limits, proxy configuration, notifications, and more. Code examples are provided in cURL, Python, and JavaScript, and backwards compatibility is explicitly guaranteed across API versions.

Usage tracking is where Webshare genuinely stands apart. Most providers offer a usage graph and perhaps a domain breakdown. Webshare provides a full observability stack:

  • Home page summary: requests, traffic, and connection errors at a glance
  • Bandwidth page: actual and projected usage for the billing period, broken down by connection protocol, with average concurrency, requests per second, and bandwidth per request all visible
  • Errors page: connection error rate, error type, reason, HTTP status code, and built-in troubleshooting instructions for each error type
  • Activity page: request-level statistics with timestamps, target domains, and request duration. For datacenter and ISP proxies, you can filter down to individual IP-level activity
  • Custom time range: pre-set options (current billing cycle, last 24 hours, etc.) or a fully custom date range going back up to three months
  • Network status page: available outside the dashboard for checking infrastructure health

screenshot of Bandwidth Statistics

The Errors page with built-in troubleshooting guidance is particularly useful. Most providers leave you to diagnose connection issues yourself.

Webshare tells you what went wrong, why, and what to do about it, directly inside the dashboard.

Proxy management verdict:

  • Account security is minimal: no 2FA, no team roles. This is the clearest gap in an otherwise strong product
  • Sub-user management is functional with good control over traffic allowances and custom lists, but the related settings are scattered across separate pages
  • The proxy list page is clean and practical, with format selection and code samples in one place
  • The API is well-documented, backwards-compatible, and covers the full range of account functions
  • Usage analytics are the most detailed reviewed: error diagnostics with troubleshooting guidance, individual IP-level activity tracking, and request-level statistics make Webshare the strongest platform in this category

Overall Ease of Use Verdict

Webshare is the most beginner-friendly proxy provider I tested in this review series. The registration is under 90 seconds, the free plan activates immediately, the task panel guides new users through setup clearly, and the dashboard surfaces performance data without making you hunt for it.

The pricing page is genuinely helpful for cost planning, with the per-proxy model giving you a level of control that GB-based plans simply cannot match.

This is a platform that has clearly been designed with the user’s first session in mind.

Level of Support

Webshare’s support is accessible via the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the dashboard.

The widget has four tabs at the bottom: Home, Messages, Help, and Tasks. Clicking Messages is where you initiate a conversation.

screenshot of Live chat

The First Line: Webby

The chat opens with Webby, Webshare’s AI agent. Rather than a free-text box, Webby guides you through a topic selection flow:

  1. “Hi, how can we help you today?” with preset options
  2. I selected “Proxy issues”
  3. “What type of proxy issues you are having?” with further options
  4. I selected “Other”
  5. “Can you explain the issue to us so that we can help you better?” with a free-text field

screenshot of Live chat conversation

I typed my question about the residential IP pool size and refresh frequency. Webby responded immediately with a detailed and accurate answer:

  • The pool contains 80 million IPs
  • IPs refresh every 2-3 hours, but not on a fixed schedule since they come from real household devices that connect and disconnect naturally
  • The pool is equally divided among users to maintain network quality
  • Access to the full 80 million IPs cycles over the course of a month through automatic rotation

screenshot of Live chat conversation

This is a more specific and transparent answer than I received from any other AI agent in this review series.

The explanation of why refresh timing is not exact (real household devices connect and disconnect naturally) is the kind of honest technical framing that builds confidence.

Getting to a Human

I then asked to speak with a human support agent. Webby responded with an acknowledgment and escalated the conversation immediately, without asking further qualifying questions.

The message confirmed that replies would arrive in the chat and to my registered email.

screenshot of Live chat conversation

Gabriel joined the conversation within a few minutes and opened with: “Hi there. Thank you for reaching out. I’m investigating your case right now.”

The Human Response

I asked Gabriel about average success rates and response times for web scraping.

The response was direct and honest:

  • Success rate and response time depend on the security of the target and the scraping configuration
  • Webshare does not test targets internally, so they would not give an estimate they cannot stand behind

That is the correct answer, and I appreciated it. Providers that quote fixed success rates for residential proxies against arbitrary targets are overpromising.

screenshot of Live chat conversation

Gabriel’s answer shows a team that understands their product limits and communicates them clearly.

Gabriel also proactively shared the refund policy without being asked:

  • No free trial on paid plans
  • 48-hour refund window available after purchase
  • Up to 1GB of bandwidth used on Proxy Server and Static Residential plans
  • Up to 0.1GB on Rotating Residential plans

Receiving the refund policy unprompted is exactly the kind of support behaviour that translates into trust.

My Verdict on Support

Webshare’s support experience was one of the stronger ones tested in this review series. Key observations:

  • Webby’s AI answer on the residential pool was accurate, detailed, and technically honest about why refresh timing varies
  • Human escalation happened quickly with no additional qualification required
  • Gabriel’s responses were direct, specific, and proactively useful
  • The Messages tab inside the dashboard keeps all support conversations in one place, which is cleaner than being bounced to email
  • The topic-selection flow before reaching the bot adds two taps of friction, which is minor but worth noting

The 48-hour refund policy disclosure without prompting was a standout moment. It is the kind of response you get from a support team that has been trained to be genuinely helpful rather than just to close tickets.

Conclusion: Do We Recommend Webshare?

Yes, without hesitation for the right type of user.

Webshare has built a product that is genuinely accessible at entry level and genuinely scalable at the top. The 10 free proxies with no credit card required is not a gimmick.

It is a real plan with real IPs that you can use to validate whether Webshare works for your specific targets before committing a single dollar.

Here is what makes Webshare stand out:

  • The free plan is the most accessible entry point in this entire review series
  • The per-proxy pricing model gives more cost control than any GB-based plan
  • The dashboard is clean, data-rich, and works well for both beginners and developers
  • The support team is honest, fast, and proactively helpful
  • The 50% discount currently running on rotating residential plans is significant

Where Webshare may not be the right fit:

  • Teams needing very large residential IP pools at the highest tier may find the 80M figure smaller than enterprise-grade alternatives
  • The 0.1GB refund window on rotating residential proxies is narrow if you want to fully validate before committing
  • Static residential pricing starts higher than some competitors on a per-proxy basis

For developers, small teams, startups, and anyone new to proxies who wants a low-risk way to get started, Webshare is one of the best-designed and most honest proxy products available today.
